NEEPU Short-term Study Program for International Students

1. Project Introduction

In order to promote exchanges and cooperation between Northeast Electric Power University(NEEPU) and overseas universities, and to help build better understanding about Northeast Electric Power University for students abroad, NEEPU carriers out a Short-term Study Program for International Students.

As a non-degree program, it accepts 20 sophomore or above and postgraduates from each overseas university. The study time is 1 semester or 1 academic year. The program includes Chinese language courses, Chinese culture courses and major courses.

2. Application conditions

1) Non-Chinese nationality.

2) Be at least 18 years old before entering NEEPU.

3) Good health and excellent academic performance.

4) After completing the studies at NEEPU, students need to return to their original universities and continue to complete their degree studies.

5) Chinese and Chinese culture courses: a student whose major is Chinese does not need to provide HSK certificate.

6) Major courses: The majors which applicants choose should be the same as or similar to those of NEEPU, and applicants must hold HSK4 certificate (above 180 points).

3. Related expenses

1) Tuition

Cost for Chinese and Chinese culture courses is 15,000 RMB/year; For undergraduates, 19,000 RMB /year liberal arts and science, For postgraduates, 24,000 RMB /year for arts, 20,000 RMB /year for liberal arts, 23,000 RMB /year for science and 28,000 RMB /year for art.

2) Accommodation fee

Standard 2-person shared room at the international student dormitory on campus, 2,200 RMB /month (water, electricity, air-conditioning and management fees are included).

Students can rent an off-campus private apartment, about 2,000 RMB /month (two bedrooms and one living room, three months' rent is required when signing the lease agreement). NEEPU can help provide private apartment information.

3) Living expenses and other expenses

The above expenses are subject to actual occurrence. International students must go through relevant procedures for entry and exit by themselves, and bear the relevant expenses and international travel expenses.

4. Duration of study

1) Spring semester: March- July.

2) Fall semester: August- January (the following year).

5. Application time

1) For Spring semester: Before December 31.

2) For Fall semester: Before June 30.

6. Application materials

1) Recommendation letter from International Office of the Applicant's University;

2) A copy of the first page of the passport;

3) Original transcript;

4) A copy of the HSK certificate (if necessary);

5) "Application Form for International Students Admission to Northeast Electric Power University ";

6) A copy of the "Foreigner Physical Examination Form". Please bring the original with you when you come to China. Before the application deadline, please send the electronic version (PDF) of the above materials to songqiang@neepu.edu.cn, and mail the paper materials to Northeast Electric Power University.
