Welcome to Northeast Electric Power University (NEEPU)! NEEPU is a key university in Jilin province, located in a beautiful city named Jilin. Founded in 1949, NEEPU has a floor space of 800,000 square meters and a building area of schoolhouses of 59,970 square meters. NEEPU has about 21,000 full-time students and over 1,500 faculty and staff. The personnel cultivation system of laying stress on the characteristics of “Yi Shi Liang Chuang” (Ability of Practice, Sense of Creativeness and Spirit of Doing Pioneering Work) has taken shape during NEEPU’s long-term educational development and teaching practice. Our university’s motto is “Diligent, Rigorous, Realistic and Creative”. More than 100,000 personnel with various professional skills have been trained and sent to all walks of life in the country.

NEEPU has 14 schools and departments, 3 doctoral degree programs, 14 first-grade subjects and 50 second-grade subjects of master degrees and 9 engineering master’s degree programs. NEEPU has 8 different types of disciplines, which are engineering, science, management, liberal arts, law, economics, education and arts. NEEPU has superior school facilities.

Recently, NEEPU has been actively carrying out cooperative education and international exchange programs. In 1998, approved by Education Commission of Jilin Province, NEEPU began recruiting self-supported international students. In 2000, Delivering International Economics and Trade Degree Program between Utah State University and Northeast Dianli University was approved by the Office of Academic Degree of the State Council. In 2011, NEEPU became one of the universities being authorized by CSC to send the young backbone teachers abroad for advanced training. In 2012, Cooperation Project of Undergraduate Education in Electrical Engineering and Its Automation between Northeast Dianli University and University of Strathclyde was approved by Ministry of Education. In 2013, the university was authorized by the Ministry of Education to be a Chinese Government Scholarship university.
