Well known for its engineering disciplines, with science, engineering, arts, management, law, economics, education, etc. developed coordinately, Northeast Electric Power University (NEEPU) is one of the key universities in Jilin Province. NEEPU was founded in 1949, formerly known as Changchun Electric Advanced Vocational School which was the first electric engineering school launched by the People’s Republic of China. Its name was changed to Northeast Dianli College in 1978. NEEPU was originally attached to State Electric Power Corporation, which used to be Ministry of Electric Power Industry and Ministry of Energy. The university has been led by Jilin province, under the management model of “joint-building by central and local governments” since 2000. In 2005, its name was changed to Northeast Electric Power University.

In order to meet the developing need of the economic society, as well as to better fulfill university’s mission and responsibility of serving the society, in 1993, NEEPU decided to build NEEPU Sci-Tech Park and to found NEEPU Sci-Tech Park Development Corporation.

Located within Jilin National Hi-Tech Development Zone, NEEPU Sci-Tech Park has 19,560 square meters’ incubator houses, 67 incubated enterprises, 19 enterprises having graduated, 17,000 square meters’ college student business undertaking center. In the last three years, NEEPU Sci-Tech Park earns total revenue of 270 million yuan, profits of 19.17 million yuan.

After over ten years’ development, NEEPU Sci-Tech Park has made great progress. It has become NEEPU’s important base for independent innovation, scientific and technological achievement transformation and industrialization, innovative talent cultivation, development of high-tech products and incubation of high-tech business.
