More than 40 dragon boat teams from 21 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities across China and the Shanghai Avant-garde Sports Association took part in the dragon-boat race, which kicked off in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province on September 22. The Jilin Provincial dragon boat team formed by our school won the first gold medal in the 14th National Dragon boat Race after fierce competition, which won honor for our province.
At 9:00 a.m., the opening ceremony of the 14th National Games began, our school teacher Liu Ziyu took the oath on behalf of the athletes. In the dragon boat race of this meeting, jilin Provincial dragon boat team first participated in the men's 500 meters and women's 500 meters. As the starting gun went off, the two dragon boat teams from Jilin Province fought hard and won the women's 500-meter race in 2:27.264 (guizhou came in second and Chongqing came in third), which was the first golden medal of the 14th National Games. The men's dragon boat team of Jilin Province finished fourth in the 500m final with 2:17.888.
